Gospel Tract — “The Path to Eternal Life: Understanding the Gospel”
Let us now discover the transformative power of the gospel and uncover its message of redemption and grace that will uplift and inspire us. This gospel tract will explore seven fundamental truths that lead to eternal life in Christ.
1. There Is Life After Death
The reality and assurance of life after death are not mere speculation but a certainty affirmed by the Word of God and a foundational truth of the Christian faith. In John 3:16, Jesus Himself declares, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This life is not confined to our earthly existence but extends into eternity.
Also, Jesus Himself proclaimed in John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” This promise extends beyond the physical realm into the eternal presence of God.
2. We Will All Stand Before God
The Scriptures unequivocally declare that every soul will one day stand before the throne of God to give an account for all that they have said and done on this earth. We cannot hide anything from the Holy Father because he knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts. Hebrews 9:27 reminds us, “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” None can escape this divine appointment, and each of us will be held accountable for our actions and choices.
3. All Sin Must Be Judged
The righteous and holy nature of God demands that sin be judged. Romans 6:23 solemnly declares, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sin, in its essence, is a rebellion against God’s perfect standard of righteousness, and its consequences lead to spiritual death and eternal separation from Him.
4. Our “Good” Is Not Good Enough
Despite our best efforts, human righteousness falls short of God’s standard. No amount of good works can outweigh the stain of sin. Isaiah 64:6 poignantly states, “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.” Our righteousness is like filthy rags before the holiness of God. Our moral achievements are tainted by sin and cannot merit salvation.
5. God Provides a Way Out
Despite our unworthiness, God, in His infinite mercy, love, kindness, and goodness, provided a solution to the problem of sin through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 assures us, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16 proclaims, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Through the atoning work of Christ on the cross, the Almighty One offers forgiveness and reconciliation to all who repent and believe.
John 14:6 records Jesus’ words, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is the only bridge between sinful humanity and a holy God.
6. Jesus Lives to Give You Life
Jesus not only died for our sins but rose again, triumphing over death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 declares, “But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep… For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.” Through His victory over sin and death, Jesus offers eternal life to all who place their faith in Him.
7. You Must Trust in Jesus Christ
Finally, salvation is not automatic. It is not attained through religious rituals or moral achievements but through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a personal decision to trust Him. Acts 16:31 declares, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” This belief involves repentance from sin and surrendering our lives to Him. Acts 4:12 asserts, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Salvation is a free gift offered to all who repent of their sins and place their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
