The Samson and Delilah Story
Discover what the life of the strongest man who ever lived instructs us and how his mistakes can help us become better followers of Christ.
The life of Samson gives us five important lessons.
- God has called us to live a holy life. He has set us apart from others as we are called to be the children of God and live a life that would be a testimony for others.
- God uses even bad situations to fulfill His purpose. We all make mistakes but God uses even those circumstances to defeat our enemies. God can use our imperfections to fulfill His purpose.
- Every action we perform has its own set of consequences. We are free to make decisions but we have to accept the effect of those decisions. Our free will should be used to turn to Jesus and be saved through Him and not do evil things in the sight of God.
- Our primary intention should be to use our strengths, talents, and skills to glorify God. We need to dedicate the prime years of our life to God’s work (Ecclesiastes 12:1). We should give God the Number 1 position in our lives.
- We need to choose a partner who shares our faith. It is a life-changing decision as it can lead us to a path of destruction and chaos if we choose a mate on our own will and not based on God’s will.
Samson and Delilah’s story is a love-hate tale full of violence and betrayal. We need to take these lessons from this final episode of Samson’s life and apply them in our daily lives.
