“The Cross in my Pocket” is one of these simple, yet deeply profound Christian poems that reminds me us Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives and we should let Him be our ruler in our everyday life.
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18
Though sometimes we feel dejected and frustrated with our lives, we should know that Christ paid a ransom for us with His own life to deliver us from all evil and harm. The symbol of the cross reminds us to include Jesus in all our thoughts and decisions. It is inviting God to reign over our hearts and minds.
Christian Poems — Cross in My Pocket
I carry a cross in my pocket,
A simple reminder to me
That I am a Christian,
No matter where I may be.
This little cross isn’t magic,
Nor is it a good luck charm.
It isn’t meant to protect me
From every physical harm.
It’s not for identification
For all the world to see.
It’s simply an understanding
Between my Savior and me.
When I put my hand in my pocket
To bring out a coin or a key,
The cross is there to remind me
Of the price He paid for me.
It reminds me too, to be thankful
For my blessings day by day ,
And to strive to serve Him better
In all that I do and say.
It’s also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share
With all who know my Master
And give themselves to His care.
So, I carry a cross in my pocket
Reminding none but me
That Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life,
If only I’ll let Him be.

I have a coin in my pocket that I’ve had for years and shared with many of my family members. However, I can’t seem to find them anywhere. It reads “I carry across in my pocket a simple reminder to me of the fact that I’m a Christian, no matter where I may be”.
Does anyone know where I can find more of these coins?
