I remember singing this amazing song in school during the morning prayers. When you face so many struggles in life, this song is a reminder that you’re not alone in this universe. You have the greatest, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God who always loves you in any situation unconditionally. Your family and friends may not be able to help you but God will always be there for you. He will provide everything you need. So, keep trusting in His Glorious Grace. He will give you the strength to carry on through this life and prepare you for the life to come.
This song was written by John Willard Peterson in the year 1979. He was a major influence on evangelical Christian music from the 1950s through the 1970s. He wrote over 1000 songs and some of his more popular song titles include “Over the Sunset Mountains,” “Heaven Came Down,” “It Took a Miracle,” “Surely Goodness and Mercy,” “O Glorious Love,” “Jesus is Coming Again,” and “This is the day that the Lord hath made.” He was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1986.
Lyrics
I just keep trusting my Lord, as I walk along,
I just keep trusting my Lord, and He gives me a song;
Though the storm clouds darken the sky, o’er the heav’nly trail,
I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail!
He’s a faithful friend, such a faithful friend;
I can count on Him to the very end.
Though the storm clouds darken the sky, o’er the heav’nly trail,
I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail!
