The Pilgrim Progress written by John Bunyan, an English writer and Baptist preacher, is a Christian allegory (a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.) It comprises two books ̶̶ the first book was published in 1678 titled ” The Pilgrim’s Progress: From This World to That Which Is to Come, Delivered Under the Similitude of a Dream.” and the second book was written in 1684 titled “Pilgrim’s Progress 2: Christiana’s Story”.
The first book tells the journey of the protagonist Christian from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City (meaning heaven). The second book reinforces and justifies the story of the same journey, which is undertaken by Christian’s wife, Christiana, and their four sons.
Explore this Christian classic (both books) that will help you to discover the joy of salvation, the many different trials one faces when trying to live a truly Christian life, and the goodness and mercy of God Almighty, as you travel along with Christian on his journey.
