The miracle of prayer is not we talking — the miracle of prayer is God listening to our pleas and getting us through.
A prayer is a communication tool that enables us to grow in our relationship with God. We should not only talk to God but also open our hearts to listen to Him. It is like a child conversing with his father to seek his guidance and blessings.
The Miracle of Prayer
In many vehicles, we can see bumper stickers promoting the “Power of Prayer”, but they forget to mention the all-powerful holy God who answers the prayers. God answering our requests is a miracle all by itself. According to Merriam Webster, “Miracle” is an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. It implies that God has heard our prayers when we see the miracle happening.
We will come to understand that the miracle of prayer becomes stronger and evident in our lives when we pray as our Lord and Savior did with all sincerity and oneness of heart.
We need to do 3 things to get our prayers answered by God.
- Hold on to God’s promises (2 Corinthians 1:20) and don’t give up on your faith. (James 1:6)
- Ask God for your desires but know that you must first delight yourself in the Lord. (Psalm 37: 4)
- Develop a personal relationship with your heavenly father and thank Him when He answers your prayers. (Ephesians 5: 20)
You need to understand that sometimes God does not answer our prayers when He knows that the request if granted will make our lives miserable and unholy. So, we have to thank God for unanswered prayers too. Submitting ourselves to God’s will change the whole perception towards prayer and will lead to the manifestation of God’s purpose in our lives.
The true miracle of prayer is the change we experience in our hearts and minds. If you have never prayed wholeheartedly and with faith, please start praying from today with an open heart and a willing mind. Though our heavenly father knows what we need even before we ask, He loves us to have a conversation with Him every day.
So, find a quiet place to pray, have unwavering faith on our Almighty God, and always end your prayer in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Say the Lord’s prayer, which is simple and profound, everyday to prepare yourself for the challenges and difficulties that lie ahead of you. When we believe that God loves us and cares for us by hearing our prayers, our lives will be much happier and blissful.
The miracle of prayer is that God is not expecting the impossible from us, He wants us to expect the impossible from Him.
