God created everything that lives and swims in the sea and instructed them to remain in the water and told them to multiply and fill the sea.
The “porcupinefish” lives in murky blue-green color shallow temperate and crystal clear tropical seas. It grows up to three feet and has large eyes, beak-like teeth, and can expand its body by up to two or three times its size when threatened. It does this by swallowing water or air.
These fishes also known as the “blowfish” or “balloonfish” have sharp spines, which radiate outwards when they are in an inflated state. Some species also have tetrodotoxin, a potent neurotoxin, in their ovaries and liver, which is 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide.
They are solitary animals and are on their own once they hatch. Porcupinefish are carnivores whose teeth are fused into a cutting plate in each jaw. They eat hard-shelled animals such as crabs, snails, and sea urchins. They will also eat sea jellies. They hunt only during the night.
