The dying message of Dudley Atkins Tyng, a young preacher in Philadelphia, inspired the hymn “Stand Up Stand Up for Jesus.” Before he died, he told his father to “stand up for Jesus.”
His friend and fellow preacher, Dr. George Duffield, was touched by these words and wrote this popular hymn. Let us be soldiers for Christ and follow His footsteps.
