The Holy Spirit equips us to do things that are not humanly possible. We see this in the life of the first Christian martyr, Stephen, who was filled with the Spirit of God and was full of wisdom and God’s grace. Being truthful and brave, he stood out among his fellow believers.
He preached the gospel boldly without fear despite dangerous opposition. He was well versed in God’s plan of salvation and fully believed that Jesus is the Messiah. Being courageous, he remained faithful till the end and was forgiving in death.
His death led to subsequent events that paved the way for the geographical spread of Christianity from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. What would have seemed like a tragedy was part of God’s mighty and wonderful plan.
