Jonah was an Israelite prophet who disobeyed by not following God’s order to go to Nineveh. While he travels to Tarshish a giant storm ensues and he is thrown overboard. He ends up in the belly of a giant fish and prays to God to deliver Him. God commands the fish to return Jonah to the very shore of Nineveh. Finally, he arrives in the city asking people to repent and turn back to God.
